Windows 7 Activation
How To Activate Windows 7
Windows 7 activation is a program by Microsoft to prevent people from using illegal copies of Windows 7. Problems arise in certain situations, while unintentional, can cause the software to think you have a non genuine copy of Windows 7. You may come across the unfortunate occurrence where you have a genuine copy of Windows 7 and still are limited by the activation software. If you installed a new motherboard or hard drive, the system may detect the new serial number and recognize it as a different computer. You could, for what ever reason, install the Windows 7 operating system more than once on the same computer within a short period of time. These and other situations can result in a non genuine product status. The way to tell if you need to complete the activation is there will be an icon in the bottom right hand corner of your desktop stating this copy is not genuine. From the day you install Windows 7 you have 30 days to activate the software. If you don’t activate the windows 7 by the deadline it will restrict your ability to use the computer. It can even go as far as when you turn on the computer it will ask you to activate and if you choose not to it will simply shut the system down. Microsoft offers two solutions for this type of problem. You can choose to either go through a very short internet activation or they offer the convenience of phone activation for those who don’t want to use the internet activation.
Internet activation is fairly simple:
- Click Start button
- Right click Computer
- Select Properties
- At the very bottom of the new window select Activate Windows Now
- Click Activate Windows Now Online
- Wait for Windows to activate ( may take a few minutes)
- Close window
- Windows 7 is now activated
Phone activation:
- Click Start
- Right click Computer
- Select Properties
- At the very bottom of the window select Activate Windows Now
- Click Show Me Other Ways To Activate
- Select Use The Automated Phone System
- Choose the nearest location to you in the drop box and click Next
From here the on-screen steps are in the order that you should follow.
Call the number provided and follow the instructions given to you by the system to complete your activation. Be careful not to confuse the product key for the installation ID. Your product key consists of a 25 character set of letters numbers located on a label somewhere on the computer. Your installation ID will be shown in the window as step 2 during the phone activation. Make sure to have a pen and paper handy when you put in your installation ID. You will need to write down a confirmation ID and input it on the computer as step 3. After you enter the confirmation ID given to you by the automated phone system, your Windows 7 should be activated.
Remember that Windows 7 activation is an important part of getting started using your Windows 7 PC. Enjoy your newly activated Microsoft Windows 7.

Tired Of Waiting On Slow File Transfers?
Welcome the latest edition in computer connectivity. USB 3.0 is the newest revision to the Universal Serial Bus standard for computers and media devices. This improvement over USB 2.0 offers up to 10 times faster transfer speeds. Along with faster transfer speeds USB 3.0 boasts more efficient power management. The important thing to remember when taking advantage of USB 3.0 is that you must use USB 3.0 cables, ports, and devices. For example, if a USB 3.0 hard drive or flash drive is plugged in to a USB 2.0 port then the transfer speed will max out at the USB 2.0 capability. It is easy to tell when you are dealing with USB 3.0 because of the blue connection or SS(Super Speed) that is stamped on it. Get started with a new flash drive today!
